Dermaplaning Facials DIamonds and Pearls Part 1 by Melissa Bustamante
Here at Salon Sanity we believe in taking moments
to breathe, relax and regroup we don’t just talk the talk we walk the walk. We don’t
live to work we work so that we can live our best life; therefore we take the
time to not only pamper ourselves but each other. During our latest retreat we took part in lots
of team building activities and of course what’s a salon retreat without
facials! We aim to do these things so that we can be at our best for ourselves,
our families and you our salon family!
Dermaplaning and facials are like diamonds and
pearls they just go together! So Let us
talk shall we. Dermaplaning, it’s one of several methods in which to exfoliate
your face and personally one of my favorites.
This procedure removes the top layer of dead skin cells, using a
scalpel, in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. The treatment also
eliminates that annoying peach fuzz and leaves the surface smooth as a baby’s
bottom, which in turn leaves your makeup application looking flawless. It is
also great for all skin types whether you have oily, dry or combination skin; however,
should you have inflamed acne, we would
recommend that you wait until your skin clears up.
During this procedure the razor removes all the
hair on your face and despite that ol’ myth “your hair will grow back thicker
and darker” it does not. The hair on your face might feel different once it
grows back, and this is only because it’s cut straight across. Your hair will
grow back at the same speed as before, and will have the same texture as well. You may notice light redness following your
treatment, as all the dead skin cells will be shaved off. Dermaplaning is a fairly quick service that
doesn’t require any downtime, we highly suggest following up with your
sunscreen as always and since surgical scalpels, not your regular razor are
used we advise against trying this at home.
