A Brazilian Reasons Why you Should Wax by Demi Pleming
Here’s
a few:
Shaving
is a form of depilation which means it is only removing the hair at the skin
level. Though it is quick & easy, it is extremely temporary. One case of
the goose bumps and you are back with stubby legs.
Shaving
is known to irritate the skin and cause razor bumps, ingrown hairs, and in some
serious cases Fol liculitis (infected ingrown hairs). Shaving too much can also
cause the skin to darken due to the skin being overly irritated.
Waxing
is a form of epilation which means the hair is removed from the follicle.
Because the hair bulb is removed in waxing, it takes a lot longer for the hair
to grow back. Waxing leaves the skin with a smooth glowing texture.
There
are 2 types of wax that can be used during a service:
Soft
wax is the most common form of wax. It is a thin wax that is removed with a
strip. This wax is used to remove thin hair in areas such as the brows or lips.
Soft wax is not recommended for people with sensitive skin because it tends to
adhere to the skin when it is applied over the hair and may cause some
irritation.
Hard
wax is “stripless” and can be used for hair removal on any part of the body. It
is applied very thick and though it looks a little intense, the removal is less
painful than with soft wax. Hard wax adheres to the follicle as it dries
instead of sticking to the skin.
Waxing
also helps decrease growth of unwanted hair. Overtime waxing becomes less
painful because the hairs will eventually pass the early growth stage which
will make hair thinner and easier to remove.
Most
people stray away from waxing because they think it will hurt. Don’t be one of
those people! Service providers tend to
wax quickly to help decrease discomfort for their guest. Remember “Beauty is Pain” and you are only
one quick wax pull away from smooth, glowing, hair free skin!
